Marta Vila Boy
Composition, piano, keyboards, artistic production
Marta Vila Boy (Barcelona, 1978) is a musician trained in Spain, Belgium and Italy who has accumulated a diversified and inquiring professional experience in different fields of music: cello player in a symphonic orchestra (DVDs Opus Arte/Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona), forays into the pop/rock world (DiscMedi Blau, Global), pedagogy and specialization in the Baroque and Classical periods. It is precisely in the field of historical interpretation that she has been the most active, playing concerts in national and international festivals, and making recordings for various record labels (La Mà de Guido, Musiépoca, Anima e Corpo, Brilliant Classics).
Her curiosity and enthusiasm to evolve further and learn within the music world led her to the field of composition. She first delved into the scholastic path by composing a version of Mozart’s Requiem in classical style (2012) and afterwards founded Magam in order to deepen into music creation, boundlessly, and into its power to communicate.
